If you do not know what the difference is between 'Navy Alpine Snowsports' and the 'RAN Ski Club', read on...

The RAN Ski Club was established in 1953 with the aim of fostering the sport of skiing and other alpine activities within the naval community. The Club has maintained close links with the Navy as well as the Defence Community ever since and continues to operate as a not-for-profit organisation with lodges at Mount Buller in Victoria, as well as Perisher Valley and Thredbo Village in New South Wales.
The Thredbo Lodge is open all year round for members and guests to enjoy alpine recreation, while the Mount Buller and Perisher Lodges generally only open in Winter. The club encourages use of accommodation by Defence guests as a venue for Adventurous training, Interservice sport and conferences, as an important aspect of our service to the Navy (and Defence Organisation). The club prides itself on fostering a friendly, informal, family environment.
Present and previously serving Permanent Navy and Naval Reserve members are entitled and welcome to seek full membership. Current and previously serving Army and RAAF members are welcome to seek associate membership. Applications for associate membership of civilians are considered on their merits.
